🌞 Sunshine, Soundwaves, and Sherfest Smiles: A Day to Remember

Despite a damp start, the clouds parted just in time for Sherfest 2025, transforming Sherfield Park into a vibrant celebration of community, music, and mouthwatering delights. Held on Saturday, July 5th, this beloved annual event drew in the crowds all eager to soak up the sunshine and festivities.

The festival featured six fantastic local bands, each bringing their own flavour to the stage. From jazz, to soul and funk and rock covers  the music kept spirits high and feet tapping throughout the day. The addition of a line dancing demonstration was great fun and Basingstoke Community Radio even broadcasted live from the event, adding an extra buzz to the atmosphere.

Foodies were spoiled for choice with a diverse array of vendors offering everything from sizzling BBQ and loaded fries to Chinese dishes, pizza, and sweet treats like ice cream and desserts. Real ales and ciders flowed freely, giving adults a chance to sample local brews while relaxing in the sun.

Sherfest wasn’t just about music and food—it was a playground of activities for all ages. Kids practiced circus tricks with the ever-entertaining Juggling Jake, made noise with the Drum Runners met furry friends at the Mill Cottage Mobile Farm, bounced on inflatables, and marvelled at walkabout dinosaurs and dragons. Craft stalls, a grand raffle, and interactive demos from local groups added even more layers to the fun.

The event was lovingly organised by Sarah and Louise, with invaluable support from the Trustees and volunteers of the Sherfield Park Community Association. Their dedication ensured a smooth, inclusive, and joyful experience for everyone.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Sherfest 2025 left behind a trail of happy memories, full bellies, and the sweet sound of community spirit. If you missed it this year, mark your calendar – 4th July 2026.  Sherfest just keeps getting better.
